THE SUMMER OF MAXI

I'm obsessed with maxi dresses in real life, owning approximately 20 of them.  Well, Jinx'd has just upped my obsession by releasing a new maxi dress for the summer called what else, Summer.  This beautiful, bold dress is available in five patterns:  Animal, Bold, Innocent, Passion, and Shy. Worn with or without the hip sash, you'll sure to get lots of compliments!

JINX'D MESH MINI

Jumping on the mesh bandwagon is Jinx'd Inc.  Jinx'd has release its first mesh clothing item, a denim skirt available in black and dark.

Unlike other mesh skirts I've demoed, this skirt fits extremely well and allows me to keep my booty after making minor adjustments to my shape.

I'm hoping Jinx'd will release the skirt in other colors, especially white...hint, hint ;-)

WEARING HIS SHIRT

Neveah Niu, the owner and creative genius behind Iconic Couture Hair Creations, has once again left us ladies with our mouths agape!  If you love hair, then you'll love her latest gift for group members called Kate.  The gift includes all four hair colors -- Obsidians (blacks), Vamps (reds), Bombshells (blondes), or Cafe au Lait (browns) -- and corresponding hair bases!  She is also generously offering Kate to non-group members for 300L for each color pack and 1000L for all four colors.

Kate is a shoulder-length, free-flowing choppy hairstyle parted down the middle.  It's reminiscent of one of the many hairstyles the actress Jennifer Aniston is known for.

If you aren't an Iconic Couture group member (250L to join), I strongly advise that you join as soon as possible.  If Kate is any indication of what Ms. Niu has in store for her group members, then I know you wouldn't want to miss out on any future group member exclusives.

I discovered Niniko while out and about one day and fell in love with this shirt.  The Big Shirt is sexy yet feminine even though the pinstripes make it somewhat more masculine.  This is something I would wear in rl after spending a romantic night with my man, or lazying around on a Sunday morning reading the newspaper and drinking a cup of tea, or wearing his shirt while laying in bed and smiling every time I got whiff of his cologne still lingering on the shirt...mmmmm.

NATIONAL WEAR RED DAY

Today, I'm wearing red in honor of the U.S.'s National Wear Red Day in the fight against heart disease sponsored by the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.  Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the U.S.

Below are a few very important statistics relating to women and heart disease:

• 8 million women in the U.S. are currently living with heart disease; 35,000 are under age of 65.
• 435,000 American women have heart attacks each year.
• 42% of women who have heart attacks die within 1 year, compared to 24% of men.
• Under age 50, women’s heart attacks are twice as likely as men’s to be fatal.
• 267,000 women die each year from heart attacks, which kills six times as many women as breast cancer. Another 31, 837 women die each year of congestive heart failure, representing 62.6% of all heart failure deaths.
• Nearly two-thirds of the deaths from heart attacks in women occur among those who have no history of chest pain.
• Women who smoke risk having a heart attack 19 years earlier than non-smoking women.
• 23% of white women, 38% of black women, and 36% Mexican American women are obese. Obesity leads to an increased risk of premature death due to cardiovascular problems like hypertension, stroke and coronary artery disease (CAD).
• Women with hypertension experience a risk of developing chronic heart disease 3.5 times that of females with normal blood pressure. High blood pressure is more common in women taking oral contraceptives, especially in obese women.  
• The age-adjusted rate of heart disease for African American women is 72% higher than for white women, while African American women ages 55-64 are twice as likely as white women to have a heart attack and 35% more likely to suffer CAD.

Ladies, if you want a long, healthy life, stop smoking, get your weight under control, exercise, and know your cholesterol level, blood glucose level, and blood pressure.

I'M AN UPTOWN GIRL

coldLogic has finally opened!  If you're not a fan of mesh, you will be after seeing this collection.  Believe me, I had a hard time deciding between the London dress and the Kelley jacket and the Joslin jumper and...oh just forget it!  Thanks a lot coldLogic! :-)

I finally decided on the London dress in scarlet and it is beautiful!  I love the fact that it's a one-shoulder dress, allowing you to look and feel sexy without being ostentatious.  This is definitely a dress that can go from casual dress to formal with just a mere change of jewelry and shoes.
